SECURITY AWARENESS

Our Online Banking system has sophisticated built-in security features to help keep your information safe. You can assist by following a few common sense practices, including:

  • Using a strong password (one that is not easily guessed by a human or computer) will have eight or more characters, including letters, numbers and symbols. Make sure to use different user IDs and passwords for your financial accounts and for any other sites you use online.
  • Never reveal your password to anyone or leave your password anywhere that someone else can obtain and use it.
  • Change your password on a regular basis.
  • Do not access your Online Banking account using a public Wi-Fi system.
  • Use the Exit button to end each Online Banking session. Do not use the Back button to exit the site.
  • Balance your account on a regular basis to make sure that no unauthorized transactions have taken place.
  • Install and maintain up-to-date operating system security patches and anti-virus software on your devices.
  • Do not respond to emails that claim to be from Rushville State Bank (or any other company) requesting your account details or login credentials (username/password). We will never ask for your personal information online.
  • Many mobile devices give you the option of locking your screen, which helps keep data stored on them secure. Depending on your phone, this can come in the form of a passcode, a pattern you draw on your phone’s touch screen or even your fingerprint.

Contact one of our staff at 217-322-3323 immediately if you feel that your Online Banking Account has been compromised or if you see transactions on your account that appear to be unauthorized.

We are excited about the opening of the Rushville Fitness and Community Center and know that it will be an asset to our community for many years to come.  We are also excited to be placing our ATM in this location for all RFCC members and their guests to use at their convenience.

MAKE INSTANT PAYMENTS WITH OUR SPIN P2P PRODUCT FROM WITHIN ONLINE/MOBILE BANKING:

A new service is available from within our Online Banking products that allows users to make "instant" payments to other individuals that hold a U.S. issued VISA or MasterCard debit card (from any financial institution). For an instant payment, simply enter the recipients debit card number in the P2P application and the funds are transferred via the debit card network to their banking account.  Users may also make a payment using the email address of recipient, allowing the recipient to securely enter their debit card number after receiving the email.

DEBIT CARD MANAGEMENT FEATURES ADDED TO ONLINE BANKING:

Several new options are now available to Online and Mobile Banking users that will allow management of certain Rushville State Bank Debit Card features:

Using the "Manage Cards" tab, users are able to:

  • Activate new cards issued on their account
  • Change the PIN number of managed cards
  • Temporarily increase the daily spending limit on managed cards for a period of 30 minutes to complete a transaction
  • Notify the Bank of Travel plans that may affect debit card usage
  • Toggle the Card Status On/Off in the event of suspected fraud on the account or to protect a lost/misplaced card from activity

By default the only cards available under the "Manage Cards" tab are cards tied to the social security number of the user that created the Online Banking or Mobile Banking account.  To add the cards of other account owners or minor family members, complete and sign the form available on our website under the Online Banking tab and return to the Bank.  A unique name may be added to each card after added to the Online Banking account for more efficient card management.
